Wound care helps Maureen get back to enjoying life
For Werribee resident Maureen, leg wounds made it harder to do the things she enjoys but specialist wound care at home has helped her get back on her feet.
August 15-21 is National Wound Awareness Week.
Maureen suffered from a leg injury and after wound management treatment from her Bolton Clarke nurses, she has healed and is back doing the thing she loves.
“My life is busy with bingo, crossword puzzles, playing Scrabble, meeting friends and going shopping,” she said.
“We have a cinema, gym and pool here in our village.”
“The wound care provided by Bolton Clarke has helped me deal with venous leg ulcers and an autoimmune disease so I can make the most of that lifestyle,” she said.
“The lovely nurses come twice a week on Monday and Thursday to change the dressing on my leg and clean up the wound, which is much better than having to go to the doctor.
“Now there’s no new blisters have come up and my leg is better.”
