Update on Fairview, Pinjarra Hills

We are pleased to share that all residents and staff tested at Fairview yesterday returned negative results for COVID-19.
Broader protective measures remain in place in line with the current Queensland Government requirements across south east Queensland.
6 August 2020
Yesterday a further round of COVID-19 testing was undertaken on 111 employees and 105 residents at our Fairview, Pinjarra Hills community.
Today, Public Health has confirmed all tests came back negative for COVID-19.
4 August 2020
The Public Health Unit has confirmed all test results to date are negative for COVID-19.
Today one resident was retested as a precautionary measure, with all residents to be retested as planned over the coming days.

Queensland Health has advised us today that results from the employees tested at our Fairview, Pinjarra Hills site yesterday have come back negative for COVID-19.
We are further encouraged by today’s results but continue to take all precautions to protect our residents, employees and community. Further testing will be undertaken over the next week.
Increased clinical observations and additional precautions, including PPE, remain in place. We have also deployed extra team members on site to assist with activities for residents while they continue to receive care in their rooms.
We will continue to work closely with health authorities and will reassess resident protection measures regularly based on their advice and local circumstances.

Queensland Health has completed testing of all Fairview aged care residents and this morning we have been advised by Public Health that all tests are negative for COVID-19.
Queensland Health is on site to test all employees today.
We are heartened by today’s results but continue to take all precautions to protect our residents and community.
Increased clinical observations and additional precautions, including PPE, remain in place.
We will continue to work closely with health authorities and will reassess resident protectiomn measures regularly based on their advice and local circumstances.

This morning we have received confirmation that an employee at our Pinjarra Hill community has tested positive for COVID-19.
The team member last worked on 28 July. She was well while attending work and took immediate action to be tested and self-isolate once she became aware of potential exposure.
The likelihood she was infectious while at work is very low.
We have been actively monitoring residents’ health and wellbeing with daily clinical observations since March and are now conducting more frequent observations as an additional precaution.
No residents at Pinjarra Hills are currently symptomatic. We continue to work closely with Queensland Health to reduce any potential risk. We are implementing strengthened protection measures including all staff wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and following strict designated areas of care (cohorting).
Under the advice of Queensland Health, residents will continue to receive care in their rooms.
We have rostered additional employees and have provided extra mobile phones and iPads to site to ensure residents remain connected with their families,
We are committed to sharing the latest information with residents and families and will continue to provide updates regularly, including through our dedicated phone line, online briefings and additional team members on site to support resident and family communication.

We are currently working with Queensland Public Health authorities to assess our Pinjarra Hills residential aged care community for potential exposure after a close contact of two team members tested positive to the COVID-19 virus.
The team members last worked on 28 July. Both took immediate action to undergo testing and self-isolate when they became aware they had been at one of the restaurants identified in health alerts.
A third team member who is a close contact of the other two is also self-isolating.
We continue to closely monitor the health and wellbeing of our residents. We are further increasing our protection measures with all staff wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and following strict designated areas of care (cohorting).
Under the advice of Queensland Health, all residents in our Pinjarra Hills community are now receiving care in their rooms until further advice. In addition, our Pinjarra Hills community is not open to visitors.
We are actively monitoring our residents’ health and wellbeing and will continue to work with Queensland Health to reduce any potential risk.
