Podcast series gives voice to ANZAC stories

Bolton Clarke clients and residents are sharing their stories with the world in a new free podcast series, In Conversation with Bolton Clarke.

Season Two, which launched on 8 April, will roll out in the approach to Anzac Day with a focus on the veteran experience and particularly on the experience of women in the services in line with the 2019 Anzac Day theme, Australian Service Nursing.

It follows an initial season of 20 podcasts featuring conversations with clients and residents from across Australia.

Season 2 conversations include:

• The remarkable recollections of At Home Support client Henry, who was reunited with his POW father by chance while building aircraft landing strips in Indonesia in the aftermath of World War II;
• The story of Stella, a Sunshine Coast centenarian who served with the Voluntary Aid Detachment in Palestine and Borneo during World War II;
• The recollections of Mary, a Hervey Bay residential aged care resident who was a nurse in Pearl Harbour and witnessed the 1941 bombing first-hand;
• Two long-lost friends reunited after 50 years recounting their time in the Women’s Royal Naval Service.

The podcast In Conversation with Bolton Clarke is available on Spotify, Google Play Music and in iTunes, and is produced in house with residents in our Aged Care and retirement living communities, At Home Support clients and with volunteers and team members of the Bolton Clarke family.
