New Bundoora community set to sparkle
An electric vehicle that will be shared by residents was among stars of the show at the launch of Bolton Clarke’s new retirement living development at Bundoora on Saturday.
Around 80 prospective residents and guests marked the official launch of Bolton Clarke’s Callisto Place community with live music, champagne and inspections of the display apartment and OhmieGo Tesla Model Y share car which will service the community.
Residents from Bolton Clarke’s Europa on Alma community at St Kilda arrived in their own Tesla share vehicle.
Bolton Clarke Callisto Place is part of an integrated planned community and will feature 90 one, two and three-bedroom apartments surrounded by 2000 square metres of public parkland.
As part of the Polaris master planned development with transport, shops and community services close by, the retirement village will offer contemporary, age-friendly accommodation and shared facilities including a senior-specific gym, library, cinema, private dining room and rooftop entertainment terrace, along with barbecue areas and gardens connecting the community with surrounding parklands.
The planned second stage of the integrated community will include a 108-bed aged care home, 30 Assisted Living Apartments and a 600m2 commercial office space which will house on-site At Home Support services.
“Bundoora is already a hub for our at home support and telehealth services. We are pleased that Callisto Place will extend this local presence with a contemporary integrated community providing connected care services that will support people to age well,” Bolton Clarke Board Member Dr Cherrell Hirst said.
“With our dedicated at home support nurses, carers and allied health professionals based on site, I know Callisto Place will be a community that residents are proud to call home. I am pleased to be able to mark this milestone with our local teams and future residents and look forward to seeing this work progress over the coming year.”
Callisto Place is expected to be completed and ready to welcome its first residents in early 2024.
