Local art steals the show at Bongaree
Move over the Archibalds, residents at Bolton Clarkes Bongaree Retirement Village recently hosted their inaugural wine and cheese Art Auction.
The majority of the artwork on display was created by village residents, including a portrait by Graham Forsyth which won best in show on the evening (pictured).
Additional artwork was provided by a residents’ granddaughter who is 14 years old, along with works on loan from private collections. Knitted blankets for sale on the evening were donated by a 92-year-old from the Bribie Island community.
Altogether, six paintings were sold for between $50 and $100 each and residents are looking forward to the next art evening.
