Bolton Clarke named APAC Operator of the Year Residential Aged Care
Bolton Clarke has taken out two categories at the 11th Asia Pacific Eldercare Innovation Awards, winning Operator of the Year – Residential Aged Care and Innovation of the Year – COVID-19 (loneliness).
Chief Information Officer Johny Agotnes was also named a Global Ageing Trailblazer.
The Operator of the Year award noted Bolton Clarke’s integrated and co-located services and research-based dementia care initiatives, SHARE intergenerational storytelling programs and innovative approaches to help residents make meaningful connections and pursue individual interests.
The Innovation of the Year award recognised the organisation’s work to address the social impact of COVID-19.
This included working with VIC Health to provide more than 11,500 in-home COVID-19 tests under the Call to Test strategy, collaborating with St Vincent’s Hospital to operate a mobile health immunisation service, expanding telehealth services including a new telephone continence assessment, connecting homeless people with food, accommodation and health services and developing and delivering research-based in-home interventions around frailty and falls prevention.
The expansion of the award-winning HOW-R-U? telephone social connection program for older people and launch of the Connect Local social prescribing initiative in Glen Eira were also noted.
Bolton Clarke was also a finalist in the Facility of the Year – Ageing in Place category for its Europa on Alma vertical retirement village at St Kilda, and in the Innovation of the Year – Social Engagement Program category.
The awards, which were presented in Singapore on 25 May during the World Ageing Festival, attracted more than 200 submissions from 15 countries.
