Aged care options expand in Willowdale community
Residents and dignitaries this week marked the commencement of work on the region’s newest residential aged care community, Bolton Clarke Willowdale, on land adjoining the Stockland Willowdale Retirement Village.
About 80 residents and guests attended a celebration event in the Stockland Willowdale retirement village clubhouse.
Bolton Clarke Director Mick Reid said: “One of the hallmarks of the work we do at Bolton Clarke is co-design – working with researchers, communities, clients and customers to develop services that are underpinned by deep clinical experience and practical expertise.
“We’re delighted we’ll soon be able to share this care expertise here in Denham Court.
“We are particularly grateful to Stockland for the collegiality shown throughout the Willowdale design process, which will deliver a contemporary residential aged care community incorporating the latest environmental design solutions for wellbeing and independence.”
On completion in 2023 the community will provide additional care options to support Stockland residents and the broader local community to age in place.
Bolton Clarke Willowdale features 144 rooms and care apartments designed around accessible communal indoor-outdoor areas including landscaped courtyards and gardens, forecourts, balconies and terraces.
Residents will from the latest enabling technology, a dementia care environment incorporating internationally recognised principles to promote choice and independence and retail spaces including a cafe to encourage active and social lifestyles.
