30 years of aged care to the Caloundra community
Bolton Clarke’s Centaur residential aged care home has celebrated its 30th anniversary on Friday, marking a major milestone for residents, staff and family members.
For longtime resident Winifred, it was a day was filled with laughter and joy.
“It has been a wonderful day and it’s absolutely lovely to see every get together for it,” Wini said.
“I’ve always liked it here because I’m a get up and go person and it really suits me – there is plenty to do.”
Residents enjoyed activities including dancing with live music, a singalong and a barbecue lunch.
Over the years, the home has built a reputation for keeping residents connected with the community with regular events and resident holiday trips as far north as Yeppoon and as far south as Canberra.
Centaur’s Residential Manager, Ash, says the turnout for the anniversary event was fantastic and one of the biggest days they have had since the easing of COVID-19 restrictions.
“I feel so proud to be a part of our community that has so much history,” Ash said.
“There has been lots of positive feedback from residents and it made me teary with happiness to see them enjoy the milestone of their home.”
Centaur opened in October 1992 and is now home to more than 70 residents.
